For example, if I am in a bar and they play a song but I don´t know that name of it I just use Shazam and it will tell me the name of the song, the band or singer and even it will show me links to find more about the song on the web. The application is very convinient and it is available for Android, iOS and even for Symbian by Nokia.

Now, if you are looking for options that have the same cappabilities of Shazam but for your personal computer por notebook, I have here two for you. The first one is called Midomi. It is very simple: you just press a button and make sure that the microphone of your computer is up and running. Then the application, which works totally online, will tell you the name of the song. It can be find at Midomi.com. The other option is the application Tunatic. It does not work online which means that you will need to download and install it.
