Www.metroflog.com is what I consider a way to meet people while you watch their photos and put comments above each of them. Actually, that's the reason why these kind of photo sharing sites have become so popular in the last few years. We have a lot of examples as Fotolog, Flickr and Photobucket.com.
Metroflog's environment
Since the first moment the site offers you the opportunity to meet new people, who can be interesting for you, offering you some user lists. These are the following: newest, most visited and random Metroflog profiles (sometimes called Metros). Only mark one of them for watching what they contain. Being more accurate, marking that you will enter in the profile of some person which is becoming popular thanks to this site.
How to become a member there? There is not a marked difference between how to start being a Metroflog's user and some other social network member. The site provides a Sing up tab that displays a new screen for filling some spaces with personal information. These are, username, password, email, among others. With your own profile you can add as many photos as you like and then watching them and the ones of the others. Www.fotolog.com has become, among the years, one of those photo sharing pages which you want to use one and another time. Maybe Metroflog users, which is a similar photo sharing page, will like to use Fotolog once they meet this page, or maybe not. At the end, both sites have quite the same goal: to provide the users a great photo sharing and social networking site. However, you can note that both pages' audiences are significantly different.
Well, talking only about Fotolog.com, the page receives its users which a cool image which illustrates what does the world look like today. Next to that you can create your own account with its respective profile pressing the sing up tab. There will appear a registration form which spaces like the next ones: username, email, password and date of birth. At the end you need to click the create Fotolog account button.
Each Fotolog's profile looks different compared with the others because users are able to modify their preferences. For example, you can change the font color of your space. Coming back to the short comparison between Metroflog and and Fotolog, in both networks the profiles have the same distribution: a huge photo at the center of the page, accompanied by the user's recent photos at the left side and user's friends or favorites at the right side. And, cannot be forgotten the space reserved for comments above the huge image.

There is a page in which you will see tons of new photos and images day to day; there is a page like Fotolog and Metroflog, but more complete and useful. There is a website called Flickr. Since the first moment the site invites you to join it. It shows some of its features like adding and unlimited amount of files and sharing with people who come from every part of the world. One of the options that, personally, I use to manage is the Search tool. For instance, if I want to find an image taken in the Amazon rain forest, it's only necessary to write Amazon and then there appears hundreds and even thousands of results. On of the best points about Flickr is that the page shows high quality photographs.
So, to conclude this post, I can say that I consider Flickr a very effective Social Networking site (or social network) based on the vast world of photo sharing communities.
